  1. I believe there is a way to open a SmartBoard file in Promethean software, but I honestly do not know about the functionality of it. Sorry I can’t help you much there! I have never used a Promethean board.

  2. Mrs. Davidson,
I have a Promethean board and there is a choice on the menu that says open a smartfile (or something to that effect.) You can open a smartboard file but I have had problems with the files looking right. When we go back to school in the fall I am going to check with the tech coordinator.

  3. I have a smartboard, but have no idea how to do all of these fun things. Any tips on where I can go to learn how to design fun things like your attendance?

  4. I’m mostly self-taught when it comes to SmartBoard activities. I worked in a computer lab for two years and that helped me learn a lot of things. Have you ever visited the Smart Lesson Exchange? http://exchange.smarttech.com There are tons of lessons and activities already made! You can edit them to fit the needs of your classroom.

Smart also has a training site: http://www.smarttech.com/us/Resources/Training/Training+Search

Also, there is a free lesson here: http://www.teacheronlinetraining.com/complimentary/ It goes over many Notebook features and could help you with creating files. There are other lessons available for purchase, but the Magic Slider free lesson does provide some good information. Even I learned some things from the lesson!

  5. Does your board run slowly with large amounts of picture files? I’ve had this issue with attendance when I used images at the beginning of last year.

  6. Hmm…I haven’t had a problem with the amount of images. I have had issues in the past with certain flash objects not working (like the rolling dice you can add in). I guess it would depend on how much available memory you have on your computer and how old your computer is.

  7. I am hoping to add some smartboard files to my new blog. I have uploaded the files to TpT as free items. Can you help me figure out how I can now add these to my blog as clickable pictures as you did with your attendance themes above?

  8. I often make my own preview images for TPT because a lot of my files are in a ZIP format and TPT does not automatically generate thumbnails for ZIP files. I usually take screenshots of my products and then resize them and then insert them into my blog!

  9. This looks really great!!:) Can I ask where to purchase the cliparts you are using and if you have any good tip about were to make blog buttons??:) Eirin

  10. ThistleGirlDesigns is where all of my graphics come from. You’ll need to make a blog button with some sort of graphics program (Paint, PhotoShop, etc.). If you Google “How to make a blog button” I’m sure you’ll find some tips. I know some have been posted recently but I don’t have the link to those pages. Sorry!
