Scott Foresman Reading Street Roll & Read Fluency Practice Unit 1 for 1st Grade

I have run across some sites recently that had these fun Roll and Read activities for various reading series. I decided to make some for my Scott Foresman stories! I have unit one finished and they are posted on my Teachers Pay Teachers store.

The Roll and Read sheets are leveled for differentiation: below level, on level, and above level. Have students work with a partner. Partners take turn rolling a dice. Whatever number they roll is the sentence they must read. After reading it, the student paces a tally mark under the correct dice to tally how many times each sentence was read.

To save on printing, consider laminating the sheets or placing them in a page protector and using Vis-à-vis markers or dry erase markers so they can be used again and again! 🙂

There are 3 Roll and Read sheets for each story in Unit 1 making a total of 18 sheets in all! Click here to check them out on my TPT store!

P.S. I am working on Roll and Read activities and spelling activities for ALL 5 units in Reading Street. They will be finished by the end of the summer! Also, I am working on running records for each story. A post will be coming in the future about how I use Reading Street in my classroom!

  1. Love this! Thank you for sharing! I teach 5th grade & was wondering how you came up with the sentences?

  2. I teach Kindergarten and really like your roll and read worksheet for fluency. Is there any way that I can buy the template so that I can put in Kindergarten sentences?

    Thanks,
    Katy
