Five for Friday – November 29

Boy have I been B-U-S-Y!! I think this is the busiest school year ever!! I’ve had meeting after meeting after meeting! My blog has been neglected lately and so has a lot of other things in my life (cleaning, grocery shopping, etc.!). I am so thankful for the three days off for Thanksgiving! This week was a short week at school. I am linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for my Five for Friday post. Here’s a few tidbits from my week.

Five for Friday

Since we were only at school for two days this week, we spent our time engaged in fun Thanksgiving themed activities and crafts. I love making these skip counting turkeys every year. This year I bought brown paper plates to save my students time. In the past I’ve always had them color their plates. By the time they finish the classroom is about out of brown crayons! Buying the brown plates may have been a little more expensive but it saved time in the long run. Plus, I have TONS of plates left over for next year (and possible the year after!) We did a lot of other fun things but I unfortunately didn’t get any pictures. 🙁

On Monday we also had our first taste of snow for the year! It only lasted for about 30 minutes or less but it was nonetheless awesome! Nothing stuck, but it was quite exciting! I love snow! I can’t wait for a snow day! *fingers crossed!*

I am now a Jamberry Nails Independent Consultant! After trying a sample for myself I was super impressed! So impressed I’ve decided to start selling them myself. They are super easy to apply and look amazing! There are hundreds of styles to choose from and they are super affordable. If you buy three nail wraps, you get one for free! They last for up to 2 weeks on your nails and up to 6 on your toes!

I am terrible at painting nails. They always look like a horrible, globby mess. These wraps are so easy to apply and look amazing! Each sheet of wraps will give you multiple applications for your nails. If you are interested, check out the amazing styles by clicking any of the images below!

I put up my Christmas tree last week, and this weekend it is all about the lights on my house! We ordered new LED icicle lights this year! The colors are great and include purple and pink which most LED light sets don’t include. We ordered these:

They came in the mail today!! Husband is working on putting up the “easy” ones right now! Annabelle was quite excited about the lights.

On Wednesday I went and saw Catching Fire with my sister. I’ve seen it three times already! Catching Fire is my favorite book in The Hunger Games trilogy so I was a little worried about how the movie would turn out. It was awesome though! I had high hopes, and I wasn’t disappointed! I can’t wait for the next movie! To pass the time I will have to reread Catching Fire and Mockingjay.  Right now I am reading Champion, the final book in the Legend series by Marie Lu. Have any of you read it? It’s so good!

  1. Glad you had a great holiday! Just wondering if you will be doing SF Unit 3 Daily Phonics Review? I love these review packets!

    1. Yes, I am (slowly) working on Unit 3! I have been quite busy. I am already half way through Unit 3 myself so I have been reusing Units 1 and 2 and having them review skills and spell words that go with Unit 3’s skills until I finish the actual packet.
