Read, Find, Write Spring

Happy April! First of all, I’m sorry this month’s resource wasn’t posted on the 1st as they usually are. I was quite busy leading up to Easter, and then there was the unfortunate event where I fell down the flight of stairs in my house while holding my three year old son. We’re both fine! He walked away without a scratch. I had quite a lot of bruising and soreness on my right side (the side I fell/slid down on) and as I am right handed, it made it a little uncomfortable to be working on the computer. So even though this is over a week later than I normally post, I hope you can still find some time to use this resource this month (or even next month!).

I have a serious case of spring fever right now! The weather in Kentucky is CRA-ZY right now! (I feel like I’ve mentioned this other months as well!) It snowed the other day (in April!) which isn’t totally unheard of, but is not common at all. I’m ready for the nice, spring days before the extreme summer heat hits! So since I have spring on the brain, this month’s resource has a spring theme!

Read Find Write Spring

Read, Find, Write Spring is a quick, no-prep way for your students to practice reading spring related vocabulary words and writing sentences. Students have to read the list of words to see what (and how many) they need to find in the picture. After finding the pictures, they will then write sentences using the words and pictures included.

Read Find Write Spring

How to use Read, Find, Write Spring:

  • Students first will read what they need to find in the picture. They will find a different number of each item.
  • After reading, they will then find the item(s) in the picture. I suggest having your students circle each found item as well as coloring them in the same color. For example, if looking for 5 flowers, have them circle the flowers and then color each flower the same color. When finding the next item(s), have them use a different color.
  • After finding all the items, students will then write sentences using the words of items they found, or using the words of other pictures seen on the page.

A full page of writing lines has been included so that you can copy it on the backside of a Read, Find, Write page so students have even more room for writing sentences.
