Phonics and Spelling Visual Clue Cards

My school uses Scott Foresman Reading Street. There are things I like and do not like about this series. Luckily, my principal pretty much lets us teach reading however we choose and does not make us use the series the way it is laid out. That’s a post for another time! I do closely follow the phonics component and introduce the skills as laid out in the book. I’ve long searched for cards or posters that cover all of the skills and rules I teach my students. I have found some here and there, but never a complete set of everything I needed. I decided to create my own. I have spent weeks working on these. I took every phonics skill or spelling/decoding rule and turned it into a card to use with my students. About two cards fit on a standard sheet of printer paper to give you an idea of their size. I know many people out there who use Reading Street and I uploaded these cards to TeachersPayTeachers in case anyone out there would like them. Even though they were created with Scott Foresman in mind, these cards cover phonics skills that all students need to learn no matter what the reading series. I created them for first grade, but I am sure kindergarten, second, and third grade teachers could find many of the cards useful to them as well. Here is a preview:
