Back to School To Do List – Linky Party!

The first day of school for me is in 17 days from today! AHHHHHH! I start back with students on August 8th. I have PD’s to attend beginning on August 2nd. The time is FLYING by! I have been fortunate this summer. We got out earlier than we have the past few years due to not missing school for snow. I was able to go on two trips (Disney World and Canada). I have enjoyed my summer VERY MUCH. I am sad to see it end. At this point, I am not ready to go back to school. I’ve been working in my classroom and I am getting a teensy bit “excited.” I know once it gets here I’ll be fine and excited and ready to go. Just thinking about my summer ending makes me a little sad though! 🙁

I have a million, no bazillion! things to do before I go back to school. Lorraine from Fabulous 4th Grade Froggies is having a linky party to share your back to school to do list. Here’s my growing list:

1. Finish 3 classroom bulletin boards (Magic Math, Fry Words, Literacy Focus Wall)
2. Make Ready Confetti for Open House
3. Make Bouncing into a new year bags for Open House
4. Make “Bright new Year” glow bracelets for Open House
5. Hang my canopy in my classroom library
6. Make Open House folder packets with all forms and information (update information as well)
7. Make transportation display and tags
8. Finalize my lesson plan template for the year
9. Loosely plan out curriculum for the year
10. Make writing folders
11. Update my behavior ladder/clip chart
12. Ramp up my writing station
13. Create my Super Improvers Wall
14. Make my autobiograqphy book
15. Make schedule cards
16. Make Quiet Critters/Warm Fuzzies
17. Create Brain Break sticks
18. Make writing and math journal labels
19. Make Great Poetry Race labels for trophies
20. Decide if I’m going to do classroom jobs
21. Make my behavior reward notebook
22. Update classroom website
23. Update classroom blog
24. Update Open House PowerPoint presentation
25. Print out all reading conference (Daily 5) information sheets
26. Make calendar notebooks
27. Update SmartBoard calendar math
28. Update substitute folder information for new school year
29. Update iPad apps and install new ones
30. Finish cleaning and arranging classroom

And I’m stopping there because it just keeps going and going and going!!! I know that I may not have time for everything so now I am trying to tackle the most important things first. Luckily, I’ve got my mom and husband to help me laminate, cut, etc.

If you’d like to join the linky party, head on over to Fabulous 4th Grade Froggies!

Good luck with your first year teaching! You’ll learn so much (probably more than the students even!). 🙂
