FREE SMART Notebook Interactive Viewer

I am very fortunate to have a SmartBoard in my classroom. I pretty much use it all day every day. I do calendar math on my SmartBoard every morning and the students LOVE it! I know some of you out there don’t have a SmartBoard or you have an Promethean Board and cannot use my SmartBoard files.

UNTIL NOW!

SMART Technologies has a FREE Smart Notebook Interactive Viewer download that allows teachers without SmartBoards (or parents at home) to view and interact with SMART Notebook files. Yay!

smart

I recently had to restore my computer to factory settings and all of my installed software got wiped and had to be reinstalled. I never reinstalled my Notebook software but today when I went to reinstall it I discovered the Smart Notebook Interactive Viewer. I downloaded it FIRST to see how well it would work for someone with no Smart Notebook software or SmartBoard.

It worked GREAT! My calendar math files all functioned correctly! Every slide worked as it was supposed to. This means that teachers without a SmartBoard could open my files and use them with a projector! Students could go to the computer and move the items around and the other students would be able to see it displayed through the projector! My Pizza Fraction lesson worked too! The only thing that the free Interactive Viewer does not let you do is edit anything. This means you could not use my attendance files and add your students’ names. (Actually you could – download the free 30 day trial of SmartNotebook, open the attendance file and edit your students’ names and then open it in the Interactive Viewer every day. Heh heh!!)  If I made an option in the attendance files to show a number rather than a student name then you wouldn’t need to edit anything anyway and the attendance files would work! I may try this out and see if anyone is interested.

If you do not have a SmartBoard or Smart Notebook software and you’d like to try out the Interactive Viewer and see if it works for you, download it and then grab my August Calendar Math freebie from TPT and try it out!

[…] If you’d like to try out my calendar math, August is free on my Teachers Pay Teachers and Teachers Notebook stores. All of the other 11 months are available to purchase. Don’t have a SmartBoard but do have a projector? You can download the SmartNotebook Interactive Viewer and STILL use my calendar math! […]
